Blumel's Plan to Create Jobs in Buderim
Mayoral candidate Cr Debbie Blumel is selling the benefits of her
promised Local Economic Action Plans to the people of
Buderim.
Cr Blumel said, under her leadership, the Sunshine Coast Council
will develop aRegional Economic Action Plan as well as a Local
Economic Action Plan for every town.
“Creating jobs is my top priority and these economic action plans
will deliver confidence, certainty and more opportunities,” Cr
Blumel said.
“Council has a key role in getting our economy back on track and
I will get the job done.
“Working as a team, Council will deliver a Local Economic Action
Plan for every town.
“Each plan will be worked up in co-operation with local
businesses, community associations and Council’s Economic
Development staff.
“I believe in taking a developmental approach which builds on
what works in each area and accepts the advice of local people
with local knowledge. We will recognise the unique history and
characteristics of towns and make sure progress is consistent
with the values of the people who call Buderim home.
"Buderim has many small business and all would benefit under a
Local Economic Action Plan developed just for them. It will
create jobs for local people including young people and over
55’s.
“The Local Economic Action Plans will be rolled up into a
Regional Economic Action Plan which will also include a number of
whole-of-region and strategic initiatives.”
“I will also continue to work closely with the state and federal
governments to ensure our region makes the most of its
opportunities.”
