Coast Kids Recieve Helping Hand
Disadvantaged and disabled children on the Sunshine Coast will
have access to more ongoing safe, high quality care and living
arrangements, thanks to local business Garry Crick Maroochydore
and their close association with QBE Insurance, who have donated
$7,000 to Integrated Family and Youth Service’s Sunshine Coast
branch.
Integrated Family and Youth Service (IFYS) CEO Paul Morton
accepted the donation last week, and said it would assist in
improving the quality of life of local children with an
intellectual or physical disability, as well as those who have
experienced family crisis.
“The donation will be used as part of our ‘Inclusive Kids’
program which provides grants to assist disabled children and
their families with day-to-day care and to purchase items that
allow these children to be better included in community life,” Mr
Morton said.
“The businesses’ generous donation will also be put towards the
IFYS foster care program which provides out-of-home placements
for children and young people in the child protection system
across the Sunshine Coast region.”
Mr Morton said Cricks had been a long-term supporter of IFYS and
the company’s assistance would make a huge difference to the
lives of many local children.
“IFYS assists more than 10,000 young people and families each
year across the state and this donation will go a long way in
ensuring these children have the opportunity to enjoy their
childhood and make the most of being kids,” Mr Morton said.
Garry Crick Maroochydore Dealer Principal Sam Bohner said he was
pleased to be able to support such a worthy cause within the
local community.
“Our local community is our lifeblood, and our business
philosophy is to give back wherever and whenever we possibly
can,” Mr Bohner said.
“This is a fantastic organisation to support; Paul and his staff
go above and beyond to help so many local families in
need.”
“It is really quite amazing what IFYS are able to do with their
often limited resources; I know our contribution will benefit as
many people as humanly possible.”
