Congratulations to the 2010 Down Syndrome Australian Swim Team
Let's join together to celebrate with these inspirational swimmers as they receive their Australian uniforms. The swimmers have been selected to represent Australia at the 5th World Down Syndrome Swimming Championships to be held in Taipei, Taiwan 1st -- 8th October. The World Championships are held every 2 years. There have been 29 countries nominated for these championships with over 200 swimmers.
The team selected are from all over Australia, 2 from Western Australia, 1 from Northern Territory, 3 from New South Wales, 4 from Victoria and 7 from Queensland. The team also includes 6 coaches. Local swimmers and World Champions Jana Clancy from Sunrise Beach and Clinton Stanley from Cooroy are members of the team. Team Australia arrives on Friday for a weekend training camp at Luther Heights Youth Camp Coolum. Pool training will commence on Saturday at the Noosa Aquatic Centre.

The swimmers came home victorious from World Championships in Portugal 2008 With 28 World Records, 28 Gold, 19 Silver, 11 Bronze medals.
