Corbould Park gets the all clear to run Sunshine Coast Cup this Sunday
An inspection of the Corbould Park track this morning has given
the all clear for the much anticipated Sunshine Coast Cup race
day to proceed this Sunday.
Sunshine Coast Turf Club Chief Executive Mick Sullivan said he
anticipated thousands of people would attend the Journal /
Weekender family race day on Sunday.
“It was unfortunate that heavy rain forced us to cancel the
previous event but Sunday’s weather is looking great and a strong
crowd is expected to enjoy two feature races being the $100,000
Chemist Warehouse Sunshine Coast Cup over 1400m and the $150,000
LJ Hooker Caloundra QTIS 600 2yo over 1200m,” he said.
Mr Sullivan said Sunday race days have steadily grown in
popularity over the past year with many families using it as a
great opportunity to enjoy a great day of entertainment at
Corbould Park.
“Parents can relax on the lawns while enjoying a punt and
children have plenty of room to run around. We also have
free kids activities including a jumping castle and a giant
slide. Entry for children is free and adults are just
$10 so it’s a very affordable day for the whole family,” Mr
Sullivan said.
