Election 2007 - John Rivett (Independent) - Senate Candidate for Queensland

John Rivett is the founder of FreeMatilda, a grass roots, community political organisation seeking to promote policies that benefit Australia and improve the culture and honesty of Australian politics. He is grouped with Richard Hackett-Jones on the Senate ballot paper (Group K).
FreeMatilda is a grass roots, patriotic, community political organisation with four objectives:
1. to improve the culture and honesty of Australian politics
2. to recruit, select and assist quality candidates in State and Federal elections who pledge support for our Core Principles but who are otherwise independent
3. to recommend (but not to dictate) policies in support of our Core Principles to the selected candidates or elected representatives
4. to have our elected representatives form Governments at State and Federal levels Our Core Principles unite our membership.
Political power is exercised by our members recruiting and supporting quality candidates, and helping them to develop policies which will lead to a free Australia
FreeMatilda candidates may also adopt and promote their own Individual Policies provided they do not conflict with our Core Principles.
