Funeral Emissions Inquiry A Waste of Money

The Leader of The Queensland Party Leader, Aidan McLindon, has today slammed a parliamentary inquiry into the environmental impact of funerals as a complete waste of taxpayers' money.

"This inquiry shows a government that is completely out of touch with the concerns of everyday Queenslanders, such as the soaring cost of living," said Mr McLindon.

"It is absurd that a parliamentary committee is now wasting taxpayers' revenue on an inquiry into emissions controls on burials and cremations. The last thing grieving Queensland families are interested in is being directed by a rampant bureaucracy to alter their preferred funeral practices to meet some ridiculous emission standard."

"This will not save the environment, but will only mean that even in death Queenslanders are unable to escape the clutches of government bureaucracy gone mad."

"The Queensland Party supports climate policy that will reduce temperatures rather than raise taxes and costs."
