Garden experts converge on coast ahead of Expo

July 03, 2009 Garden experts converge on coast ahead of Expo

Excitement is mounting in anticipation of the annual Queensland Home Garden Expo with top landscape designers, nurseries and leading horticulturists converging upon the Nambour Showgrounds in preparation for the event which runs from July 10-12.

The three-day event is set to attract over 25,000 garden lovers and horticultural professionals to the Sunshine Coast as well as some of Australia's leading gardening experts who will be hosting lectures, demonstrations and workshops, offering free advice and information for garden novices and experts alike.

In addition to the extensive array of exhibits and entertainment on over, visitors to the Expo will have the opportunity to win the ultimate garden accessory, a ride on mower valued at over $5000 as well as a number of other great prizes including a Honda Tiller and Hitachi Split System Air Con both valued at $2,300.

Queensland Home Garden Expo Event Manager, Marion Beazley is excited about the event which will celebrate 25 years of gardening magic and says that this year promises to be bigger and better than ever before with over 360 exhibitors including 60 of the best nurseries selling over 40,000 top quality plants with new releases daily.

"We are really excited about the calibre of gardening professionals, displays and exhibitors on show this year and eagerly look forward to what promises to be one of the best gardening events in the country," said Event Manager, Marion Beazley.

Leading landscapers and nurseries are already hard at work designing and preparing their full-size displays to create that 'wow factor' at the entrance to the Expo. The focus of this year's displays will be on water-wise gardening, sustainable living and gardening with native plants, offering visitors a peek at some of the emerging trends for the forthcoming season.

Special exhibits include the 'Giant Organic Kitchen Garden' which features permaculture and organic gardening, floral art competitions, as well as a fabulous Shade House feature with all the best in ferns and shade-loving plants.

"This year's Expo will not only provide visitors with a great deal of information, but also the resources and inspiration to create their very own haven in the home and garden," said Marion Beazley.

If you consider yourself an avid gardener, why not invest in a Gold Pass which entitles the cardholder unlimited entry to the event across the three-days, discounted parking rates, exclusive access to the Gold Club, as well as a number of other special offers.

If you are a novice, a budding gardener, collector or just looking for a great day out, be sure to head along to this year's Queensland Home Garden Expo.
