Its almost impossible no to be transported into Ash's world whose relationship between a grinding guitar and a stony, rock-strewn voice is all that is needed to convey absolute exhilaration. After spending the last year writing, recording and the UK, The John Steel Singers are about to hit the scene again in a very big ways. With the success of the previous singles 'Strawberry Wine' 'Rainbow Kraut', 'Evolution' and more; they will soon embark on new territories in the form of their long awaited debut album 'Tangalooma'. Produced by Robert Forster (The Go-Betweens) and mixed by New York record engineer Nicholas Vernhes (Animal Collective, Deer Hunter) 'Tangalooma' shows a depth of songwriting and is as lasting and infectious as ever. The band indulge in experimentation yet its that classic pop ethos that is firmly at the centre of the Indie pop group. The burgeoning is a reflection of that, as the band encourages fans to get their record players gearing up for a listen. The Brisbane six piece have had a lot to smile about on their journey leading up to this debut. Their catchy blend of pop has seen them become firm triple j favourites, verified by the station granting them the 2008 Unearthed J award for best newcomer of the year. In the live scene, they have played with heavy weights such as the Polyphonic Spree, Built to Spill, The Dodo's, Man Man, Philadelphia Grand Jury, The Grates and others which is no wonder considering their live reputation. Their performance and musicianship is fascinating -- often switching between instruments and being resourceful with percussion utensils, they keep the show spontaneous, yet tight. Once they draw you in, you will never forget. The John Steel Singers were stand out performers at this years Splendour in the Grass. Not to be missed.

Expect these guys to have the grass beneath your feet light up.
Over the past four years Paul Greene has been given the thumbs up by John Butler, The Waifs and Ani Diffranco, hi-jacked by Midnight Oil's Rob Hirst and served as the inspiration behind Ben Harper's 'Diamonds on the Inside'. He has now sold over 50,000 albums but you won't see his name on any charts, as Greene has taken a staunchly independent path which has led him on a journey through countless festivals, bar rooms and concert halls across Australia. Slowly becoming one of Australia's best touring singer/songwriter his refreshingly honest music, three and a half octave voice and catchy melodies will leave you with the impression this man is a truly unique talent.
A French Butler called Smith are ready to serve up a massive feast of latin /funk gypsy groove music. These guys are all consuming to watch, and its impossible to keep your feet still once you are within the energy realms of their music. Their musical intentions are to bring people together for an all organic, spirited experience for the sole purpose of celebrating the joy of living.
