Have your say on the North Shore Community Centre
01 July 2009 Have your say on the North Shore Community Centre
Sunshine Coast Council will host a community engagement evening about the North Shore Community Centre at 5.30pm on Tuesday 7 July at Mt Coolum Room, Sunshine Coast Airport.
The centre is a long-awaited facility for the North Shore community and will provide a range of functions including meeting rooms and performance and presentation areas to meet community needs.
Division 8 Councillor Debbie Blumel said the consultation evening was a chance for residents to see proposed plans for the centre and provide feedback to council.
“The driving force behind this project is to provide North Shore residents with a quality facility that meets the needs of the community,” Cr Blumel said.
“I’m looking forward to meeting with residents and hearing what they have to say about the proposed plans.
“Their input is going to bring us closer to providing a centre that meets their needs and preferences and can be used by the whole community.”
It is planned for the centre to include:
- Three multi-functional meeting rooms
- Performance and presentation area with small stage and backstage area
- Meeting area with enclosed outdoor playground
- Office and kitchen facilities
- Reception
- General foyer and gathering space
Council staff will present proposed plans for the centre for community feedback at the consultation evening.
