James Blundell Relishes Chance To Support The Australian Party
James Blundell declares writing The Australian Party anthem as
one of the most important and fun projects he has worked on.
James Blundell took to the stage at Katter’s Australian Party’s
inaugural conference last weekend, to perform the anthem,
revealing it for the first time. The legendary country music
singer entertained delegates and Party faithful with his rousing
performance of the song he penned especially for the Party.
In introducing himself, Blundell boiled it down to the Party’s
name. “There’s three words on the board and I love them all.
Katter, he’s a good man, honest, and they’re hard to find. “Party
– that’s always fun. The big one (Australian) – that’s it. We
live in the greatest nation on the face of the Earth and I don’t
like seeing it watered down.”
Australian Party State Leader Aidan McLindon said the war of
words that set the conference abuzz was put aside for a moment
when Blundell took to the stage to perform the anthem. “He is
such a passionate performer and a proud Queenslander, so it was
no surprise to see him captivate the audience with his take on
what needs to happen in this election,” McLindon said.
“It was a coup to have a star of James Blundell’s calibre perform
but it was no surprise that Blundell wanted to lend his weight to
the cause. “The Australian Party has earned a name for itself as
the fun party and with artists like James Blundell delivering
such a rousing performance, we are doing a great job of living up
to our reputation. “The song he wrote and performed describes us
perfectly – we are no slick unit of politicians here to preach to
you. We are here to say – there is something wrong with this once
great state and we are here to fix it.”
McLindon said Blundell aptly summed it up after his performance.
“He put down his guitar and told the applauding and cheering
crowd – ‘we’re all in this together’.” * To view James’
