Mamma Mia! Flicks in the Sticks taken over by Dancing Queens and Super Troupers
19 March 2010 Mamma Mia! Flicks in the Sticks taken over by Dancing Queens and Super Troupers
Eumundi’s outdoor cinema, “Flicks in the Sticks” has announced its next screening –“Mamma Mia!” – on Saturday 27 March at the Eumundi Showgrounds.
“Everyone loves ABBA – and you can’t help but sing-a-long to their classics”, says Flicks Director Trent Harvison. “Also throw in Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and beautiful Greek island scenery and you have a fun-filled family movie”.
“The soundtrack will have everyone up and dancing and we’ll be encouraging everyone to come dressed in their daggy ABBA 70’s finest, with prizes awarded to the best dressed”, says Trent.
The Eumundi Showgrounds doors will open to moviegoers from 5pm, with the screening starting around 6.30pmish. BYO rug, chair or blanket, with beanbags available for hire.
A full candy bar will be in operation with all the usual goodies, as well as hot meals including burgers, curries, noodle dishes and Mediterranean mezze plates.
“The cost is only $8 per person, and it’s free for children under 3 years of age,” says Trent. “The price also includes a glow light and a movie treat – your choice of a choc-top ice cream, or drink or handmade chocolate. It’s the best value night out on the Coast!”
Flicks in the Sticks is at the Eumundi Showgrounds – at the Cooroy end of Memorial Drive at the Bruce Highway end of Eumundi.
Flicks in the Sticks will also be screening “Monty Python’s Life of Brian” on Easter Sunday – 4 April.

A bit about the movie…
The Plot
Sophia Sheridan is 20 years old and lives with her mother Donna on an idyllic Greek island. She is about to be married and wishes for only one thing: that her father walks her down the aisle and gives her away. The only problem is that she doesn't know who her father is and her mother won't discuss it with her.
After she finds her mum's diary from the year she was born, she invites three men who could possibly be that man. Sophie is convinced that she will know her father as soon as she sees him but soon realises that she hasn't a clue. Mayhem ensues when her mother is displeased and confused that the three are there, the men all think they're the father and her fiancé is getting fed up with the whole mess.
The plot serves as a fantastic backdrop for a stack of ABBA songs. Before you know it you’ll be shamelessly singing along to those daggy 70’s Swedish classics in full voice. Full of plenty of ABBA songs this movie will appeal to fans of all ages.
