MSQ gives the all clear to another beach

18 March 2009 MSQ gives the all clear to another beach

It was confirmed today that Currimundi Beach has the official all-clear and Sunshine Coast Regional Council Lifeguard patrols will recommence there on Saturday as scheduled.

It is anticipated that all remaining beaches will be opened over the next few days. Signage has been posted on beaches and at the beach access points for the safety of residents, please heed any warnings.

Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) is the lead agency responsible for coordinating the oil spill clean-up. People seeking any further information should contact MSQ on 1800 216 723.

Until further notice from the state government, people are advised to keep away from the beaches signposted as closed.

For the latest Sunshine Coast beaches status report, see council's website -- www.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au
