Newman Should Support Bob Irwin, Sign LNP MP’s CSG Moratorium Petition

CSG Moratorium Petition Largest Open
Queensland Party Leader Aidan McLindon has urged Campbell Newman
to support Bob Irwin and a moratorium on coal seam gas mining by
signing the e-petition launched by LNP Member for Warrego, Howard
Hobbs.
“Mr Newman, as a member for the public, has forty-eight hours
left in which to show that he is truly in favour of regional and
rural Queensland’s interests. By signing this petition he will
also be showing his support for the courageous actions of Bob
Irwin, who was arrested for his peaceful protest against CSG
mining.”
“Mr Newman has a choice now to support the LNP Member for
Warrego’s petition for a CSG moratorium, or he can prove, once
again, that LNP Members of Parliament are no more than puppets
for the LNP Executive to use and discard as they see fit.”
“Queensland needs a moratorium on CSG mining until the health and
environmental impacts on the Great Artesian Basin and rural and
regional Queensland are known.”
“This petition is by the far the largest petition currently open,
proving that this is an issue that Queenslanders are passionate
about.”
“Unfortunately, like so many other policy areas, the ALP and LNP
have exactly the same policy on CSG mining and both parties are
not prepared to listen to the people of Queensland.”
