Noosa's Longest Lunch Dining A La Jazz
Last year the Noosa Jazz event, Tastings on Hastings Street luncheon was such a huge success event organizers have decided to keep the culinary delight as a permanent fixture.
Tastings on Hastings provides the unique opportunity to wine and dine literally on Hastings Street, while being entertained by the Festival's performers on roaming stages on Friday 3rd September from 11am.
Rod Lockwood, Director of the Noosa Jazz Festival, says the response to the lunch last year was astounding and although we anticipated a keen interest we were still surprised at the numbers that turned out.
"This year we will be catering for an expected 800 guests, seated down the middle of Hastings Street from a wide range of restaurants offering sumptuous menus. What better way to enjoy an alfresco style gourmet lunch, sipping on fine wines and listening to the sultry sounds of Jazz on a Noosa Spring day," said Mr Lockwood.
After an opening jam session on Thursday night, the first full day of the Noosa Jazz Festival kicks off with the traditional New Orleans style parade down Hastings Street, behind the King and Queen of the Festival.
"The Hastings Street Parade is a real crowd-pleaser, great value, full of colour and entertainment. Last year's road closure saw the crowd three-deep all the way down this iconic tourist street to catch the procession of bands and street entertainers," added Mr Lockwood.
Tastings on Hastings will highlight a morning of all that's Jazz on Hastings Street, so why not make a day of it and soak up all that is on offer. As a special treat, The event will be presenting two of Australia's iconic and young dynamic Chefs, Matt Golinski Celebrity Chef on Channel 10's Ready Steady Cook and Matt McKenzie, Jamie Oliver's protg from fifteen restaurant in Melbourne and Celebrity Chef of Outback Matty. Both will be showcasing some of their signature dishes that have won them world wide acclaim.
