Premier urges Queenslanders to back Titans in NRL finals series
Premier Anna Bligh has congratulated the Gold Coast Titans on making it into the 2010 NRL finals series.
The Titans are the only Queensland team left in the NRL competition and Premier Bligh is urging all Queenslanders to get behind them.
"Everybody knows I'm a massive Gold Coast Titans fan and it's very exciting they've made it into the finals series this year," Ms Bligh said.
"In fact they're the only Queensland team to do so and I congratulate them on their tremendous effort.
"Nothing unites a city or a state more than a winning sporting team.
"So regardless of which team people usually back, I'm urging all Queenslanders to get behind the Titans and support them all the way to the Grand Final.
"The Titans are on a winning streak and it's a very real possibility that they could win their very first NRL Premiership.
In their run to the finals the Gold Coast Titians are set to take on the New Zealand Warriors at home at Skilled Park on Friday night.
"Here's hoping a very vocal home crowd and the knowledge that the whole state is behind them can get them over the line," Ms Bligh said.
"Go the Titans!"
