Seven Days And Still No "Reassessment" List From Nicholls

Public Works Minister Robert Schwarten today said it was seven days since LNP Treasurer Tim Nicholls announced that the LNP plans to "reassess" the Bligh Government's record infrastructure program.

"And yet Mr Nicholls has made no concrete announcement about what infrastructure projects he would cut," Mr Schwarten said.

"This is despite Mr Nicholls having three days of Parliament this week to tell Queenslanders the projects he is targeting," he said.

Exactly a week ago, Mr Nicholls let it slip on morning radio that the Bligh Government's nation-leading $17 billion infrastructure program would be "reassessed".

"Given his silence this week, we can only assume that projects mentioned in Parliament, such as the Queensland Police Academy (3750 jobs) and Sunshine Coast University Hospital (9000 jobs), would be cut by an LNP Government," Mr Schwarten said.

"Also, we would have to think that the Queensland Children's Hospital (8000 jobs) is part of the 'reassessment'."

Mr Schwarten said Mr Nicholls should say what he means by "reassess" and be transparent about projects targeted for reassessment.

Bligh Government infrastructure projects and the jobs that have been created, or will be created, are:
