Showgirl crowned to represent the wider Coastal strip

The Noosa Show Society was proud to host the Finals for Near North Coast Sub-chamber showgirls and Rural Ambassadors last weekend. Young women from as far in the north as Maryborough and in the south Pine rivers and all show society’s in between (15 in total) came together for a nothing short of spectacular Ball held in the Pomona School of Arts Hall.  The hall was transformed by the valued volunteers in our community.

After a long day of interviews with the judges, where the girls were asked to comment of rural lifestyles in different arenas, a professional photo shoot with Sandra Faye from Studio 417 on Kin Kin road, the girls headed for the Ball.  The entrants had to showcase their dance aptitude in “The Pride of Erin”.  After some one on one questions in front of the audience that helped highlight the personality of the girls Andrea Schulz from Gympie Show Society was crowned winner.  Local girl Lucinda Wiltshire was a very close runner up with only a few points splitting them.  Renee Jones from Maleny Show Society was awarded Rural Ambassador. Annabelle Reiss from Noosa Show Society was awarded runner up.  All contestants did their area great justice.  We can see that rural lifestyles and the country show movement are in safe hands with such an enthusiastic younger generation ready and willing to step up and volunteer.

The show society sends a big thank-you to all the sponsors and the volunteers that gave their time to help with decorations and also running the night and making it such a successful event.
