Software Programming + The Internet + Television = Innovation Winners!

On Saturday night, local family owned business www.mysunshinecoast.com.au won the Innovation Category at the Sunshine Coast Excellence in Business Awards, proving their company ethos that you can be successful, using local companies and local resources.

Their 'Awesome Ad Campaign - 15 Minutes of Cross Media Madness' back in March was an Australian first, time-synching a Television advertisement with online software resulting in a truly innovative advertising campaign. The crew from MSC ( www.mysunshinecoast.com.au ), sick of the economic doom and gloom, combined with Mike Middleton from OnCamera to come up with the concept to allow the advertisers onsite the chance to promote their services by giving them away onsite during the 15 min ad drop downs. Brilliant software programmer, Stephen Neate of MSC & Subtle Difference, then did the programming to make this happen at the required timeslots advised by Channel 7, who were brave enough to let us air an ad that told people to "Turn off their TV!".

The support of the MSC advertisers resulted in amazing 470 individual prizes for visitors totalling an amount of $56,646.00. All this was done using only local product. Local businesses that advertised onsite, a local Film-maker, and of course the liaison with the local Channel 7 rep. The advertising was successful for all involved, and the Innovation award sponsored by AusIndustry was just the icing on the top of the cake.

As Noely from www.mysunshinecoast.com.au said when receiving the award, "It is awesome that an old fashioned family business can be successful in a high-tech industry". Special thanks go to the very creative, though slightly mad Mike Middleton, and the very patient Kim Jarrott From Channel 7, who we are sure had to bite her tongue every time Stephen phoned double checking ad times, and of course the Advertisers on MSC for your great giveaways to the visitors onsite, we thank you for your trust and support of us!
