Sunshine Coast business celebrates 65 years
Celebrations are in full swing for one of the Sunshine Coast’s
longest standing companies, with local dredging, civil
contracting and marine civil specialists Hall Contracting having
marked 65 years in business.
Hall Contracting Director Cameron Hall said the 65 year milestone
was an exciting achievement for the company, which has grown from
a one-man operation in the mid-forties when Les Hall started
supplying sand and gravel on the Sunshine Coast, to a
multi-faceted company employing more than 100 staff and operating
on a local, national and international stage.
“Our family has grown considerably over the years; today we have
120 employees and consider each and every one of them to be part
of the extended Hall family,” Mr Hall said.
“Hall Contracting’s proven ability to withstand challenging
financial climates throughout six decades of operation and come
out on top really is testament to the enthusiasm and dedication
of our staff as well as our focus on honest communication and
working collaboratively with our clients,” he said.
Mr Hall said the expansion of Hall Contracting’s services
had also been instrumental in maintaining a competitive edge in
the business arena over the years.
“We’ve really made an effort to grow and adapt to adequately
service the market. After our inception in the mid-1940s, we
gradually expanded our services to include dredging and civil
construction, and we now operate of one of the largest dredging
fleets in Australia,” Mr Hall said.
“We have continued to expand our service offering with the
addition of larger and more powerful dredging equipment to tackle
major Port and Harbour projects; in the last 6 months we have
launched our 82 metre long cutter suction dredge Eastern Aurora
as well as a brand new 24 metre workboat Groote Eylandt.”
“Complementing this dredging capacity is our marine civil
division which is experienced in constructing pipeline shore
connections, weirs, seawalls and bridges.”
Mr Hall said the local community had also played an integral role
in assisting Hall Contracting to reach its current level of
success, and as such, the Hall Contracting team was committed to
giving back wherever possible.
“We recognise how truly important the community is in fuelling a
business and ensuring it can prosper,” Mr Hall said.
“Hall Contracting is heavily involved in supporting community
groups such as Rotary and we have assisted more than 20 other
charities and community groups in recent years including Sunshine
Coast based charity The Encouragement Foundation.”
Mr Hall said he was excited to see what the future would bring
for the company and was looking forward to undertaking more
sizeable projects in the dredging arena in particular in coming
years.
“We have expanded our fleet of dredging equipment substantially
in recent months, so it will be great to see the new equipment in
action and show our capabilities in taking on world-class
projects.”
