The Australian Voices embark on new Australian tour

The world renowned a cappella vocal group, The Australian Voices, are bringing their Choral Classics to regional Queensland in March 2012.

After triumphant and sold out Choral Classic Concerts in November last year, the extraordinary audience reactions has prompted The Australian Voices Octet to go ‘on the road’ in a trip that will take in over 80 towns and cities across Australia.  Tickets prices are less than half that The Australian Voices usually charge in capital cities across Australia and the world with tickets between $5 & $20.
Featuring a repertoire that includes Mozart, Rachmaninov, Tchaikovsky & Bach as well as Australian composers Gordon Hamilton, Stephen Leek, Daniel Walker and  Paul Stanhope,  The Australian Voices bring their unique and soaring sound to the wonderful acoustic settings in churches and cathedrals around the country.

The Australian Voices are under the baton of the acclaimed young conductor and composer Gordon Hamilton.  Under his direction, The Australian Voices is forging new musical experiences, crossing genres and exploring new frontiers in artistic excellence.  Gordon has been honoured with numerous international awards. His compositions, instrumental performances and vocal ensembles under his direction have won recognition in Europe, Asia and United States; as well as in his native Australia.

The Australian Voices is recognised as one of the finest classical a cappella ensembles in the world. Over the past 18 years, the group has toured annually performing to audiences around the world. The mission of The Australian Voices is to commission, perform, record and promote the music of Australian composers.

Since 1993, The Australian Voices has championed an astonishing flourish of new Australian vocal music, having commissioned over 200 compositions.  Much of this new music captures vividly the vibrant sound, colour and energy of the Australian continent, its culture and its people.  The ensemble has performed over 500 concerts of new Australian music to over 250,000 live audience members in over 20 countries.  Along the way, this extraordinary a cappella troupe has amassed a swag of coveted awards, winning an enviable clutch of accolades, medals and trophies at major international competitions and events.
