The Entire SBSLC Committee Resigns In Shock Action. Molloys Claim Their Stance Vindicated
After many months of failing to satisfactorily answer questions from members and the public concerning accusations of mal-administration and questionable activities, including the expulsion of former Club Vice President and decorated patrol captain, Dr Ivan Molloy and his wife, former Noosa MP Cate Molloy, the entire Sunshine Beach Surf Club Management Committee has resigned.
In response, Dr Molloy today claimed, 'At last - there is some justice, it looks like the SBSLSC Committee has finally been made accountable for its actions.'
'Our actions in trying to expose what we considered were very questionable activities by the Club Committee, have now been totally vindciated', said Dr Molloy.
'We and our supporters paid a very high price for trying to right what we saw were obvious wrongs at the club,' said Molloy.
'We were expelled by Queensland Surf Life Saving and all our supporters were hunted down and hounded out of the club by some very vicious, bullying people,' he said.
'What remains now is for Qld Surf Life Saving to issue us an unequivocal apology for its actions,' said Dr Molloy.
The Sunshine Coast Branch of Qld Surf Life Saving will now assume a caretaker role over the Sunshine Beach Surf Club until new elections can be held.
