The Sunshine Coast Blues Festival is all fired up and ready to go

The Sunshine Coast Blues Festival is all fired up and ready to go on the 10th to 12th September weekend. "This year's line up is the best yet" said Aaron Giffen, the festival's program coordinator. "We've got some great headliners with the iconic Australian Bluesman Kevin Borich, the sensational multi award winning Ray Beadle, and the man who takes us back to where it all began, the elder statesman of the Blues, Wiley Reed."

Kevin Borich is now a resident of the Sunshine Coast and this year he makes his first appearance at the Blues Festival. "Kevin is really looking forward to playing at Nambour" said Aaron. "Our festival is a small one and that means the audience has no trouble finding a seat or getting close to the action right up in front of the stage." Ray Beadle is back at the festival after his stand out performance in 2008. In the meantime he has become the prominent blues Artist in Australia using his experience of playing with the BB King band to collect a host of awards including the prestigious 2010 Chain Award.

Wiley Reed has been delivering "the real thing" in Blues since he arrived in Australia from the USA in 1967. Born in Florida in 1944, Wiley began singing in a church choir at the age of nine. Wiley remains an inspiration to blues lovers everywhere and, as always, his performance will be a memorable highlight of the festival.

Of course there are a host of other top line performers with Mojo Webb, Barry Charles, Blind Lemon and Natural Ball leading a talent filled program of Blues artists. While this will be one of the smaller festivals around, there are three stages to choose from. The Blues Club Stage hosts showcase acts, workshops and jam sessions, and the Breakfast Stage offers early morning all acoustic Blues with your morning coffee.

Festival goers will have free camping available for weekend ticket holders, and will have a range of food and merchandise stalls to choose from, including a fully licensed bar near the main stage. The Sunshine Coast Blues Festival continues a tradition of staying small and delivering high quality Blues music. This year will be better than ever!
