UDIA Mayoral Forum set to flesh out Coast’s next leader

With the Local Government elections locked in for April 28, the perfect opportunity to hear  from all of the aspiring mayoral candidates will be at the UDIA Sunshine Coast Mayoral Forum  on February 24 at Maroochy RSL Events Centre.

UDIA Sunshine Coast President Frazer Dean said the Mayoral Forum would enable local  business leaders and members of the general public to hear from those who want to lead  the region forward.

“As far as we know it is the only opportunity to hear from all seven candidates in the one forumand we are delighted that every Mayoral candidate has accepted our offer to come along and participate in our Forum.  It’s a great opportunity for them to present their vision to local  business leaders as well as the broader community.

The Forum will be facilitated by former Channel Nine journalist and renowned executive leadership trainer Warren Clarke who promises to put each candidate through their paces so guests can determine who will be the best person to lead the region forward.

“Warren’s role will be to flesh out each candidates attributes and the reason they should be Mayor of the Sunshine Coast.  As a leading industry body, the UDIA is keen to hear what each candidate will do to improve the local economy and create employment opportunities.  We will certainly be noting what they say and we will hold them accountable if elected to be our Mayor,” Mr Dean said.

The seven Mayoral candidates include Debbie Blumel, Mark Jamieson, Warren Blee, John Edds, Kim Edwards, Michael Bloyce and Brett Winkler.
