Vote 1 for experience with opening of pre-polls
Mayoral candidate Debbie Blumel has urged voters who will be away
or working on election day, Saturday 28 April, to go with
experience at today’s opening of prepolling for the Sunshine
Coast Council election.
“I’m the only candidate for Mayor who has experience as a
Councillor, and a proven track record of getting things done,” Cr
Blumel said.
“I have the experience of working in council and knowing how it
works.
“I have the experience of overcoming bureaucratic obstacles and
still getting things done.
“I have the experience of working with my elected colleagues to
get unanimous support for major projects such as the airport
master plan and convention centre.
“This is the most important local government election in the
history of the Sunshine Coast and it is important that the next
Mayor is ready from day one.
“I have a plan for the Sunshine Coast and know how to achieve it.
I will deliver more jobs, a stronger economy and protect the
environment.
“I was part of the team that laid the foundations for a
sustainable future, a sustainable economy and a sustainable
environment.
“If I’m elected as Mayor, I will build on that solid base to
deliver long terms benefits for the whole of the Sunshine
Coast.
“If you want a Mayor who has experience and gets the job done,
just Vote 1 for Cr Debbie Blumel.”
Booths are open from 9am to 5pm every weekday except ANZAC Day,
and open until 6pm on Friday 27 April 2012. (see list of booths
