Warning!

HELPING ANIMALS • ENLIGHTENING PEOPLE • CHANGING LIVES

RSPCA Qld is once again warning livestock owners in particular to make certain their animals are moved to higher ground if their properties are at risk from flood waters.

“With flash flooding already being experienced in some areas and more flooding predicted we’re urging owners to act sooner rather than leave it till the last minute,” said RSPCA Qld spokesman Michael Beatty. “Last year numerous animals died because they were either swept away or trapped in mud. We would urge anyone with animals in their care to make certain they are moved to higher ground away from possible flooding. Being a charity we only have limited resources and we simply can’t be everywhere. There are also situations where we cannot access the areas where animals are in trouble.”

Domestic pet owners are also urged to make certain their animals are not trapped in flooded backyards.
