WIN entry to the 2012 Mooloolaba Tri

You can win an individual or team entry to this year’s Mooloolaba Triathlon on Sunday 25 March 2012 announced Steve Cooper, CEO of Sunshine Coast Destination Ltd (SCDL).

Mr Cooper said the Mooloolaba Triathlon’s event reputation continues to sell out within days. Due to this interest and popularity, SCDL has four individual and four team entries up for grabs.

“It is not surprising, that since the first Mooloolaba Triathlon located on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland in 1992, the event has grown to become the second largest triathlon in Australia attracting international and Australian interest from both beginners and world class tri-athletes.

“If you have made a New Year’s resolution to get fit or take on a challenge, this promotion provides a great incentive to start the new year in a healthy way: swim, bike and run in one of world’s premier beachside resort locations. The Mooloolaba Triathlon celebrates the essence of our region’s image of the Queensland summer lifestyle and makes the most of our naturally refreshing environment,” said Mr Cooper.

The competition is open to Australian and New Zealand residents and entries must be submitted by 13 February 2012 at www.visitsunshinecoast.com.au/tri

The Mooloolaba Triathlon is the centrepiece of a three day multisport festival that is expected to attract over 9000 competitors and approximately 70,000 spectators.

Sporting tourism events, such as the Mooloolaba Triathlon Festival, are important elements in the region’s overall tourism strategy mix which makes up 17% of the regional economy and 20% of total employment in the region, in addition to enhancing the profile of the Sunshine Coast as a sporting event destination.
