Colin R Bishop, Independent candidate for Pumicestone
PUMICESTONE: - Colin Bishop JP (Qual)
Colin Bishop came to Australia in 1980 after completing ten years service with the British Army. He has lived in the Glasshouse (now Pumicestone) electorate for about five years. Colin has a varied employment background including State Service Manager for a major power tool company and twelve years as a TAFE Teacher (Horticultural Mechanics, Chainsaw Operations and Computing). He was then self employed for about ten years as a Tree Stump Grinder and a Natural Healing Therapist. He currently works as an Employment Trainer.
Colin has a Diploma of Teaching (TAFE), a Bachelor of Education and a Diploma of Biochemic Medicine and is a well known and vocal opponent of the governments forced Fluoridation of Public Water Supplies Bill and the introduction of recycled toxic effluent into SE Queensland drinking water. Colin is aware of many local issues that have not been successfully addressed by past governments, including:
* A dire shortage of essential infrastructure and services on Bribie Island, Beachmere and the western side of the Pumicestone Passage.
* The Caboolture hospital and the lack of infrastructure to support it.
* The shortage of affordable rental accommodation and the number of investment properties that are being built.
* School bullying and associated problems within schools.
Colin is standing as an Independent Democratic Labor Party candidate and can be contacted on mobile: 0419 021 779 and E-Mail: dlpcab@optusnet.com.au. He would welcome your input on local issues that should be addressed by your representative in government.
