Elisa Roberts, Independent candidate for Gympie

I am contesting the seat of Gympie because I did an extremely good job during the two terms I was the MP for Gympie and had it not been for the dirty tactics and personal attacks from my opponents, I would still be there. Many people have told me that they miss my fighting spirit and the way I was able to achieve positive outcomes. They also miss the bi-monthly newsletters I put out which was aimed at keeping them informed of things which were of particular concern to them. They didnt just hear from their Member at election time. I was able to get three new police stations for my consitituents and an ambulance station, plus millions of dollars in funding for the public hospital, plus an increase in the annual budget funding - this list of achievements is virtually unheard of in other electorates.

I do not support the dam and NEVER did. This was a misconception spread by the National Party. I do not feel that the Mary Valley should be responsible for the water needs of the whole of the South East corner!!!!!!!!!! We are served quite adequately by the Borumba Dam at present. But we would be more than supportive if Brisbane and the rest of the south east corner wanted to recycle their water or to build a desalination plant. It is not up to us here to fix the problems that previous governments made by allowing development without the appropriate infrastructure to meet their growing population needs.

I am honest, hardworking and genuine, something which can not be said by many politicans today. I am back, stronger than ever and I know that the public is fed up with political party jargon and speels about what they will do if elected and then fail to do it.

My record of achievements speaks for itself. If the public wants a supporter in their corner, then I am the ONE. I don't make false promises, all I promise is that I will do everything in my power to see that this Electorate is not overlooked as is has been over the past term.

If the people thought I was results orientated before, then wait until they see me now!!!!!!
