Jenny Hansen Read - ALP Candidate for Glass House

Jenny lives in the Glass House electorate with her three school-aged daughters and husband Robert. Her father, Brendan Hansen OAM, served as the Labor member for Wide Bay 1961-1974 and in State Parliament as the member for Maryborough 1977-1983.

Jenny has worked extensively with artists, architects and designers, through various creative organisations, to help develop creative employment and exhibition opportunities.

Jenny formerly taught music in high schools and primary schools throughout Queensland including in Caboolture.

Jenny is committed to delivering a strong voice for the people of Glass House in Parliament.

Jenny Hansen Read is committed to supporting Glass House's sustainable development with infrastructure such as:

* Delivering an extra 102 new trains on the Citytrain network, adding an extra 23,000 seats.

* Planning through the SEQ Regional Plan to protect productive farmlands and the unique natural environment of the Glass House electorate

* Supporting the Blackall Range as part of the Iconic Queensland Places Act 2008

Jenny highly values strong communities and will work hard to support volunteers and community groups to achieve positive outcomes for their members.

As both a teacher and parent, she is committed to each child achieving their potential through building better facilities, new kindergartens, and high aims for the new national curriculum.

Jenny is passionate about design, technology, education and community as the cornerstones of a sustainable future building on Bligh Government initiatives such as
* installing solar panels on every Queensland State School;
* ClimateSmart Home Service.
* Investing in safe cycle and pedestrian paths and supporting public transport networks
