John Fogarty, Daylight Saving for South East Queensland candidate for Caloundra

Dr John Fogarty, General Practitioner, aged 53, born in Northern Ireland. Have also lived in Kenya, Italy and England. Emigrated to Australia in 1990. Married Leith , true blue Aussie in 1991. 4 Children , all boys aged 6 to 14 years, youngest and oldest both having birthdays this month.

My policy stance is a desire for evening daylight as I, and most [70%+] South East Queenslanders are sick of having no useful daylight after work all year. I'm sure visitors and tourists would love evening daylight in summertime also.

Queensland is a very badly governed State and the only Australian State without Daylight Saving . Both the State Government and Opposition are abhorrent of the notion of Daylight Saving and the Federal Government has washed it's hands of what should be it's responsibility under the ''weights and measures '' provision of the Constitution. The DS4SEQ Party is Queensland's only hope of ever coming into line with the rest of the civilised world on this issue.
