Katie Rose Cottage, Sunshine Coast Community Hospice Ltd

The Sunshine Coast Community Hospice charity has been established to provide hospice support care to all dying people, of any age, in our community free of personal cost.

Our Community Hospice Guest Houses are ordinary houses, located in the community, which have been adapted and equipped to care for the dying. It is a flexible environment with a peaceful environment.

The care and support provided in our guest houses is based on a hospice philosophy of care which addresses people's physical, psychological, social and spiritual issues. The aim of hospice care is to attend to people's physical symptoms and pain and help them find comfort, peace and dignity at the end of life.

Our first Community Hospice Guest House, Katie Rose Cottage, has now opened it's doors to the Sunshine Coast community. Current services include counselling for people diagnosed with a life-limiting illness, and information and counselling for grief and bereavement.

Educational workshops are also available in the areas of loss and grief, spirituality and communication skills.

Our Mission:
To provide specialised hospice care in partnership with the community for people of all ages who are dying.

Our Vision:
To provide home-like hospice care for people who are dying and their family and friends. This holistic care is based on a team approach, best clinical practice and excellence through continuing research and education.
