The book is a definitive collection of breathtaking imagery of the Maroochy River from the headwaters to the mouth, presenting the river as sacred and sublime and a much loved treasure for residents and visitors of the Sunshine Coast.

This 288 hardcover coffee table book highlights the many hidden treasures of the Maroochy River and discovering them is what sets the imagination free. It is hoped that seeing this unique world for yourself will encourage respect for, and understanding of, the great beauty of this waterway.

The book themes capture the local indigenous legend of the river, the headwaters, aerial and satellite photography, the creatures, the flora, the riverside homes, the sailing, the history and the changing river mouth to name a few.

About the authors:

Mike Middleton is a cinematographer who has spent the majority of his life viewing the world through the lens of a camera. He shares a love of the Maroochy and has photographed her from every angle and across all seasons. Mike's passion for the river is manifested evidently in his photographs. Every picture is a perfectly managed portrayal of the river.

Cerran Fawns has lived in the Maroochy River catchment since she was 5 years old. The beauty of the natural environment has inspired her to become a environmental scientist. She has a passion for the river and dedicates her life to seeing it restored to its former glory.

Kate O'Reilly is a photographer and joined the project in mid 2008. Kate has since accompanied Mike Middleton on many expeditions to capture the river in its various forms. She has developed a new found appreciation for the river, its people and its uses.
