Paul McGrane, Independent candidate for Pumicestone

My policies are to ensure that:

1. The existing Pumicestone bridge is widened by 5 metres to allow pedestrians, cyclists, elderly folk in mobility chairs and fishermen full and safe access to the bridge as per my design to be submitted to the Chamber of Commerce Wednesday evening (11 march) at the Meet the Candidates' Forum at the Bribie RSL at 7pm.

I expect that the costs wiill be in the vicinity of 5 million dollars. I have exceptional hands on experience, having worked around the world in 7 different countries constructing bridges.

I hope you can attend the Forum.

2. The Petition for a mini hospital at Bribie has already 3500 signatures, obtained my Peter Dawson, my Campaign advisor.

Shane Moon (NLP) has these petitions in his electoral office. My stand on this subject is that everyone on Bribie needs this facility, regardless of political bias. This additonal hospital will aleviate the pressure on the Caboolture hospital.

I have also done a preliminary design which will be submitted to the Chamber of Commerce at the same forum.

I will instigate a $2.00 donation from the general public to enable a fair and reasonable assessment by independent experts on the two proposals above. These improvements will greatly improve the quality of life to the community and visitors alike.

3. My opinion on the Desalination Plant is 100% in favour, subject to public debate and approval by all voters in the Pumicestone electorate. I have hands on experience with the plant at Tugun. This will promote a jobs boom in this area.

I personally find the thought of drinking or bathing in recycled water, objectionable. This should be only a last resort
