2010 Queensland Home Garden Expo

Dates: Friday 9th July 2010 to Sunday 11th July 2010
Location: Nambour Showgrounds, Nambour

What's new at the Home Garden Expo

Gardening enthusiasts are looking forward to seeing what new products, exhibitors and features will be on display at this year's Queensland Home Garden Expo at the Nambour Showgrounds from July 9-11.

Peter Heaton will launch the Heaton's Plant Wall, a vertical garden system that is perfect for smaller homes like apartments, offices or to bring life to unsightly walls.  These impressive and striking features are two metres high and include 60 plants, but take up only 0.12m of floor space and include an automatic watering system that also makes them a low maintenance option.

Queensland Home Garden Expo Event Organiser, Marion Beazley believes that while this may be the 26th Expo, launches of innovative products such as this mean the event continues to offer visitors something new every year.

"We pride ourselves in having new and exciting exhibitors every year and we are fortunate that as the profile of the Expo has grown over the years, some of our exhibitors are choosing to launch new products at our event which adds to the attraction," said Marion.

"We will see the launch of a number of new plant varieties with over 50 nurseries attending which we believe makes the Expo the largest selection of plants in any one spot in Queensland.  We also have a number of exciting new exhibitors on board with demand for stands being the highest ever this year."

Visitors will have the opportunity to step out into the garden to see what's on the dinner menu when Garden Guru Phil Dudman and food writer Julie Ray team up to celebrate the best of the season's backyard harvest. The pair will whip up a scrumptious meal that anyone can prepare fresh from the garden and share their tips on how to grow and enjoy the best and freshest of garden ingredients.

subTropical Gardening, the only gardening magazine in Australia dedicated to local South East Queensland issues, that launched at the expo in 2005, will celebrate its 5th anniversary with the exclusive early release of Issue 20.

Paul Plant, Editor of subTropical Gardening, is also part of our fantastic line-up of speakers including the likes of Colin Campbell, Annette MacFarlane and Ross McKinnon who will share their wealth of knowledge in an extensive speaker program across seven stages," said Marion.

The event is a three-day celebration of all things gardening and last year attracted over 27,000 visitors who enjoyed displays from over 360 exhibitors, breaking all previous records.
