Caloundra hosts Tartan Spectacular

Easter brings the skirl of the bagpipes and the swing of the kilt to Caloundra on Queensland's' Sunshine Coast with both the Australian Pipe Band Championships on Easter Saturday and Highland Dancing Championships on Easter Saturday and Sunday.

The events will be held at Caloundra Sports Stadium in North Street, Golden Beach, and the nearby Australian Rules football ground starting from 8am.

The Champion of Champions Championship of Australia is the most prestigious highland dancing competition in Australia with over 550 entries this year. The competition will be fierce with the best of the best hoping to claim the coveted title.

The Tartan Spectacular is on Saturday in the stadium with the pipe band championships on the oval only a short walk away. The Champion of Champions Championship is on Sunday. Get up on stage yourself on Sunday with a gold coin entry to support charity and a part in Australia's Biggest Highland Fling. Entry for spectators on each competition day is $5 with no concessions, and includes both events on the Saturday. A souvenir program will be available for $8.
