Free, public Family Fun Day
AUSTRALIA'S only Freestyle Football team are coming to Bli Bli to
showcase their spectacular skills and to launch Parklakes new $4 million
sports facility on Saturday September 4.
The free performance by the renowned Trick Star Freestyle Football Show
will feature impressive acrobatic skills, dance moves and simultaneously
juggling soccer balls using various parts of their body. They will also
be accompanied by beat boys.
Their unique, never-seen-before show demonstrates the art of expressing
yourself with a football, known as freestyle soccer in the United States
where the sport is rapidly rising in popularity ahead of the World Cup.
Founder and choreographer of the Freestyle Football Show, Paul Harvey,
has earned international industry respect for creating and
choreographing the Ultimate Freestyle Show, which saw the team featuring
in the recent FIFA World Cup campaign, FOX 8's Football Superstar
Season 2 and on channel Seven's Australia's Got Talent.
"We are very excited to be part of the launch of the Sunshine Coast
community's new sports complex and our team has been practicing
extensively to show the Family Fun Day crowd something new," Mr Harvey
said.
The sports complex cost more than $4 million to construct at the
northern end of the Parklakes residential community and includes three
competition sized football (soccer) fields, an overlay for a cricket
pitch, three wetland/lakes spanning 3.5 hectares, a playground and a 1km
recreational running track that links in with a 6km walking track
network throughout the residential community.
The Parklakes sports complex will also include a new 600sqm2 club house,
which will double as a community hall for local residents and community
groups.
Designed by Covey & Associates, the sports fields were built with
underground irrigation and was built with a 1% fall allowing all weather
play.
The Parklakes Sports Complex will be handed over to the Sunshine Coast
Council for management on completion and will be available for local
community groups and sports teams to use.
The free, public Family Fun Day will be held at the new sports complex
at Parklakes residential community, located off Bli Bli-Yandina Road.
Just follow the signs and colour!
As well as the Freestyle Footballers, visitors can view the existing and
proposed Parklakes community and provide feedback about the next sports
facilities that residents would like to see built. There will also be
food, drinks and jumping castles, 30 free footballs give away and a
kick-off competition for the kids.
The team will also have a full scale model of the residential community
to show residents how the proposed expansion plans will look.
Parklakes is a residential community set on 80 hectares and surrounded by natural forest, cane lands and open parklands.
At completion, Parklakes will include 530 homes to cater for a community of more than 1200 residents.
