Kayaking the Currimundi
KAYAKING THE CURRIMUNDI
August is the month for the Sunshine Coast Wildflower Festival. The Currimundi Catchment Care Group is leading an hour-and-a-half's kayaking tour around Currimundi Lake and along Currimundi Creek to its upper reaches where there are no houses at all and the tranquility of the water adds to the enjoyment of the native bushland along the banks.
It's amazing what little local beauties can be missed unless they are pointed out to you. Certainly, the best way to enjoy the different ecosystems and to understand the pressures on the system is from the water.
If you have a kayak or canoe, or can beg or borrow one for the morning, came with us on "Kayaking the Currimundi" on either Saturday 28th August or Sunday 29th August from 9.30am to 11am from Noel Burns Park, Wurtulla. Bring your family or bring a friend. Bookings must be made through customerservice@sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au or phoning SCC (Caloundra Office) 54208200. We hope you will come with us!
