LIGHT UP EUMUNDI BRINGS CHRISTMAS SPARKLE
Tis the season to be jolly in Eumundi as the town embraces Christmas in July with 'Light Up Eumundi'.
Eumundi Chamber of Commerce Secretary Kerrie Bryant-Adams says Light Up Eumundi will run from July 1 to 31 with businesses and buildings along Memorial Drive and local B&Bs to be decorated with twinkling Christmas lights.
"To see the many historic and iconic Eumundi buildings all lit up will certainly be something special for visitors to our town," Kerrie said.
"The seed was planted by Eumundi's Christmas Shop All Things Christmas, which has generously assisted local businesses with some truly magical Christmas lights."
A number of businesses -- including The Imperial Hotel and Joe's Waterhole -- will continue the winter wonderland theming inside, with Christmas trees and decorations.
"Light Up Eumundi is also about delicious Christmas fare, with a number of businesses embracing the theme by organising Christmas in July events," she said. "And word on the street is that Santa's more than likely to make an appearance or two!"
Light Up Eumundi events include:
Wednesday 1 July -- Light Up Eumundi begins with lights switched on at 5pm
Friday 10 July -- Treefeller's Restaurant (5442 7766) serves up a sumptuous Christmas banquet with tickets $45ph, including drink on arrival
Thursday 25 July -- Food@Eumundi (5442 7072) together with All Things Christmas presents an evening of festivities and a traditional christmas feast with tickets $45ph. This event is also a fundraiser for the Butterfly Foundation with auctions and live entertainment on the night
Thursday 30 July -- Eats Restaurant (5442 8555) gets into the Yuletide spirit, opening for a special two course Christmas dinner with tickets $35ph, including glass of bubbly on arrival.
Month of July -- Jacaranda Creek Farmstay & Bed & Breakfast (5442 7037) are offering discounted accommodation for the month, with Christmas dinners each weekend.
Next to the Christmas Shop, Caf Eumundi will be featuring Christmas Fare on their specials board for the entire month.
