Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow
Comedy Roadshow to
entertain Caloundra
Bolstered by roars of laughter and unbridled adoration of audiences
during their Melbourne season, a bunch of international and local
comedians will be cramming healthy egos into tiny suitcases and hitting
the highway en-route to Caloundra.
This year's Caloundra leg of the Roadshow will feature a total of five
comedians, including Sammy J and Lawrence Mooney.
From Melbourne to Edinburgh, Sammy J has earned a reputation as one of
the most exciting and inventive performers on the international comedy
scene. You may have seen him on Spicks and Specks, Good News Week or
Talkin' Bout Your Generation. He has recently released a CD of his
award-winning comedy songs, Sticky Digits, and a DVD of the smash-hit
stage show Sammy J in the Forest of Dreams.
Lawrence Mooney is one of the countries best-loved comedians. He is
always working somewhere on the circuit and is a favourite at the
Melbourne International Comedy Festival where he has won or been
nominated for various awards. Lawrence is also in high demand on the
corporate circuit. You may recognize Lawrence from his many television
appearances on The White Room, the 7pm Project and The Einstein Factor
Last year, the Roadshow consisted of approximately 40 of the Festival's
finest comedians, who played a total of 103 performances to 52,137
people (to be exact). Confronted by a ticker-tape parade (almost) of
fans at every regional pit stop they visited, the 2010 Roadshow is set
to overdrive for its 12th year, covering more mileage than ever before --
from the North to the South to the East to the West -- and even setting
sail across to Singapore.
This performance may contain coarse language, sexual references and
material that can offend. It is not recommended for children under the
age of 15.
