The Changing Face of Adoption
Thousands of Queenslanders will be affected by the new adoption laws.
Are you one of them or do you know someone who is? Find out more and
have your questions answered at a free seminar at Nambour Library on 13
April at 6.30pm.
Recently changed adoption laws will affect both families trying to
adopt, and those who have been adopted and are trying to find their
birth parents.
Major changes include:
* New provisions for birth parents and adopted people accessing
information
* Changed eligibility criteria for prospective parents adopting a
child
* Protection of privacy for those who do not want to be contacted
Solicitor Kathryn Hodges from Rimmer Lawyers will explain the changes
and answer questions.
This Sunshine Coast Libraries event is held in partnership with the
Suncoast Community Legal Service.
