The Fifth Avenue Quintet
The acclaimed 5th Avenue Quintet, will make a visit to the Coast this month with "A Little Bit Classical", a one-night only recital, at The Indee at Eumundi.
The ensemble's members, all professional musicians, play with both the Queensland Pops Orchestra and the Gold Coast Symphony. The combination of flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn, brings remarkable depth to the works of some of the world's greatest composers.
The recital on Saturday, 17th April, will include such favourites as Handel's Music For the Royal Fireworks, Five Dances by Denis Agay, a charming little set of pieces in five different styles, The Chimney of King Rene, by Darius Milhaud and an arrangement for wind quintet of Mozart's famous "Gran Partita -- Serenade for 13 Winds", which includes the well-loved slow movement, that featured on the ABC's Swoon CDs.
