'The Simpsons Movie' -- Dive-In movie

Date: Friday 15th October 2010
Location: Eumundi Pool, Eumundi
FLICKS IN THE STICKS CREATE A 'DIVE-IN' FOR SCREENING OF THE SIMPSONS MOVIE

Eumundi's outdoor cinema Flicks in the Sticks is heading poolside to the Eumundi Aquatic Centre with their next screening of THE SIMPSONS MOVIE (PG) on Friday 15 October.

Flicks in the Sticks Director Steve Beardsley says "After the success of our first 'dive-in' screening of 'Finding Nemo' earlier in the year, we've scheduled in as our next screening 'The Simpsons Movie'. A 'dive-in' means you can float in the pool and watch the movie. But if you don't want to get wet -- no problem, there's plenty of grassed areas at the pool to watch the movie on dry land".

The Eumundi Aquatic Centre doors will open to moviegoers from 6pm, with the screening starting around 7.15pmish. BYO floaties, noodles, lilos for the pool, or blanket, beanbag, chairs or couch for the land. Lifeguards will be on hand to assist with pool supervision.

THE SIMPSONS MOVIE screening is a fundraiser for the Eumundi Swimming Club, who will be cooking up a storm with a sausage sizzle and BBQ from 6pm.

"The cost is only $8 per person, and free for children under 3 years of age," says Steve. "The price also includes a bag of chips to munch on -- as well as pool entry after 6pm"

The Eumundi Aquatic Centre is on Memorial Drive, at the Bruce Highway end of Eumundi.

As Steve cheekily adds, "Our dive-in movie will be so much fun, you'll wet yourself!"

A bit about the movie...
Homer adopts a pig who's run away from Krusty Burger after Krusty tried to have him slaughtered, naming the pig "Spider Pig." At the same time, the lake is protected after the audience sink the barge Green Day are on with garbage after they mention the environment. Meanwhile, Spider Pig's waste has filled up a silo in just 2 days, apparently with Homer's help. Homer can't get to the dump quickly so dumps the silo in the lake, polluting it. Russ Cargill, the villainous boss of the EPA, gives Arnold Schwarzenegger 5 options, forcing him to choose 4 (which is, unfortunately, to destroy Springfield) and putting a dome over Springfield to prevent evacuation. Homer, however, has escaped, along with his family. Can he stop the evil Cargill from annihilating his home town, and his family, who have been forced to return to Springfield?
