Tree ID Workshop

Florabunda Bushcare will be hosting a workshop on Tree ID with Ann Moran on Saturday April 17th at 9.30- 12.30 at the nursery. Cost is $10.00 with morning tea provided.

Botanical Tour

Maroochy Waterwatch arranged another workshop in this popular series for Tuesday 27th April , to be presented by Ashley Sewell (ex Dept of Natural Resources - Forestry Extension Officer).

Visiting Jowarra Park, Scientific area No.1, Mary Cairncross Park and the Mapleton Forest Reserve, to inspect areas of Wallum, wet and dry Sclerophyll forest, rain forest and riparian Vegetation. This full day workshop is designed to aid community members involved in natural resource management in distinguishing different vegetation communities in relation to landscape, landzone, vegetation formation and design and geology.

We will meet at 8:30 am at Jowarra Park (near Rustic Cabin, Steve Irwin Way) and finish at the Mapleton Forest Reserve. Own car needed for transport. We plan to begin at 9am sharp and finish approximately 3---3:30pm depending on the interest of the group. Bring your own lunch or buy it at Mary Cairncross Caf.

Petrie Creek Upper Catchment Tour

Visiting several revegetation sites the Petrie Creek Catchment Care Group has been revegetating on Saturday 1st May at 9am.

Riversweep 2010

Riversweep 2010 goes coast wide incorporating not only the Maroochy River but also Currimundi Lakes, Mooloolah River, Stumers Creek and Noosa River. Come and enjoy the rivers AND clean them up! On Sunday 16th May.

Participants can either paddle a canoe or assist in collecting litter. Some canoes are available, but would be great if you have a canoe, kayak or small boat to bring along. The More the Merrier.

Speechcraft Course
