Youth Arts Competition and Showcase
If you are aged between 4 and 17 and living on the Sunshine Coast then we are inviting you to participate in the Youth Arts Competitions!
The theme this year is "My Sunshine Coast Life..."
This is initiative of NDS Performing Arts with the support of the The J and My Sunshine Coast to promote arts on the Sunshine Coast and provide an opportunity for young people from prep to year 12 to express themselves and how they feel about growing up on the Sunshine Coast.

We are running a colouring competition for 4 10 year olds, a skit writing competition for 10 13 years and a one act play writing and song writing competition for 14 17 years.
All the entries from the colouring competition will be scanned and displayed on the MY Sunshine Coast website and on display in person at the J leading up to the performance Showcase on the 6th December. Tickets will be on sale at the J from November.
Winners will be announced on the NDS Performing Arts website and MY Sunshine Coast on the 28th September.

Play and Songwriting Competition
Youth Arts Play and Song Writing Competition Presented by NDS Performing Arts We want to hear form all the budding talent on the Sunshine Coast. TO ENTER Write a skit, play or song with theme My Sunshine Coast Life . o 10 13 years Skit writing competition (max 6 mins and 6 characters) o 14 17 years One act play writing competition (max 30 mins 10 characters) o 12 17 years Song writing competition (no more than 4 mins) |
GREAT PRIZES

The winning play and skit will be produced by director Kayte New and the winning song performed live by professional musicians.
First Prize: Winning entries will be performed at the The J on the 6th December, Where they will be filmed and then shown through streaming video on the My Sunshine Coast website, taking your talent to the world. Winners will also receive an All Class Pass (Valued at $480) at NDS performing arts.
Second Prize: $100 voucher - for group tuition in acting, singing or dance at NDS Performing Arts.
Third Prize: $50 voucher - for group tuition in acting, singing or dance at NDS Performing Arts.
Winners will be announced here on the NDS Performing Arts website and MY Sunshine Coast www.mysunshinecoast.com.au on the 28th September. The Performance Tickets will be on sale at the J www.thej.com.au from 1st November for a performance on the 6th November, make sure you get your tickets fast.
