 Chorale Concert Giveaway!
Everyone has seen, heard & had a giggle at the 'It’s a Big Ad' beer advertisement, but did you know it is actually a beautiful piece of Music called Carmina Burana?  I think not!
Alrighty, I will start this with a disclaimer, I am not someone who could be considered a candidate for mother of the year... I will never be one of those 'motherly' mothers who have perfectly clean houses, organise half a dozen kids, all on time of course, and after all that, still are capable of providing a well balanced nutritional meal, some even hold down jobs while they do this? I do my best, so feel I am halfway qualified to offer the following 'motherly' pearls of wisdom:
1. Kitchen utensils or Electrical goods are NOT a perfect gift! They are 'household' necessities! Unless your mum has hinted strongly (and is one of the saints mentioned above), or the appliance has all the bells & whistles that your mum doesn't really need but thinks is cool and doesn't really need, don't go there!
2. Breakfast in Bed is awesome! But please let mum at least get up to go to the bathroom before she gets back into bed to enjoy your labour (of course keep her spot warm for her until she is back).
3. Handmade stuff is great! I don't know one mum who doesn't think the card with the glue leaking through to the next page, or the painstakingly prepared pot holder that is wonky isn't brilliant. Don't worry if your efforts go a little askew, she will love and treasure it more than any item the big shops might flog on the TV!
For those first time dads? If your wife has recently given birth, ummm that slinky negligee is not really a winner mate, a whole day of you cleaning & letting her relax and sleep will ensure undying love!
