Teamwork works...
As most regular readers know, I am pretty disparaging when it comes to sports people or celebrities being lauded as hero's or role models and don't think they deserve it, particularly not when there are members of our own communities who are much more worthy.
On the other hand, as a true blue Queenslander I was stoked with our win the other night, I enjoy the footy immensely and State of Origin is always a highlight in our household, (and can sometimes be a tad loud as well). At the end of the day though after all the hype, it is just a game, the guys are not 'heroes' or 'legends', they are paid professionals playing at the top of the game.
The Queensland Team this series though does have something to offer which is actually pretty good. The reason they won was basically just because they wanted it more and played as a 'Team'. Apart from Thurston being a showpony every now & then (had to put that in LOL!), they all backed each other up, didn't give up when they were behind, and used each others particular talents to the team's benefit.
Forget all the hero worship rubbish, I mean, seriously, half these blokes are not even lookers nor do they have scintillating public speaking skills, and when they tried to 'bring back the biff', hello, have you ever seen so many 'air swings'?
BUT whether you are in business, a sporting team, community group, even family or projects at School, Teamwork is the key. You may not like everyone around you, but, you are more guaranteed to overcome adversity if you work as a team, not to mention that success is always sweeter when it can be shared.
