'The Narcissist' double passes

Winners Drawn - Congratulations to Paul of Battery Hill & Jenny of Kiamba near Yandina who were lucky enough to score the doubles to the Friday 27th of November performance of Noosa Art's most recent production, 'The Narcissist'! Everything Noosa Arts presents is great, but this contemporary play is a real thought provoker about us as Australians, and of course will make you laugh as much as it makes you reflect, so if you have not got your tickets yet, get in quick!

The Narcissist

Playwright Stephen Carleton and Director Liza Park bring The Narcissist to Noosa Arts Theatre between November 26 and December 5.

Xavier (played by well known local identity Frank Wilkie) is a narcissist, single and totally self-absorbed. His boozy forty-something best friend Bronwyn (played by Caroline Kennison), challenges him to a duel: "Six weeks to bag a man! No ifs, no buts, no limits, no boundaries and no rules!" New Years Eve was the deadline.

Enter Xavier's blast from the past ex-boyfriend Jesse (John Mayes) with his new and innocent fiance Y'landah (Celia Donnellan), along with Xavier's extra-sensitive metro-sexual housemate Satchel (Daniel Chapman) and suddenly the competition is warming up. In a game of lies versus almost truths, cover-ups and scandals abound.

The Narcissist is very good contemporary theatre and delightfully original. It is set in present day Brisbane, New Farm to be exact. It pokes fun at contemporary Australian issues, feeling no need to shy away from issues such as gay relationships, commercial religions, political inconsistencies and Big Brother idiocies.

NOTE: This play has adult themes and is not suitable for children.
